As a meeting professional, going virtual means amazing opportunities: you can invite different speakers (no more international travel expenses), you can reach a bigger audience (unlimited seating), and you have new opportunities to create connection (take breakout rooms to a new level). 

But, virtual has its challenges too.

  • Will the presenters know how to use the technology?
  • Will they be engaging?
  • How will we create connection in a virtual environment?
  • What if a presenter is really bad virtually?

I have presented at countless conferences and in 2020 I have been in over 400 virtual sessions. I’ve seen amazing presentations and painfully, bad ones. Conference organizers have told me they love how engaging I am, how energetic the workshops are, and how much everyone participates. While I appreciate the accolades, I don’t want to be exceptional. I want this to be the norm.

Virtual Presenter Essentials Online Course

Virtual Presenter Essentials is a short online course designed to provide foundational knowledge and skills for conference presenters to lead engaging virtual sessions. The content focuses on the basics of technology, design, and delivery of virtual presentations. Each person who will be leading a virtual session during your conference will be enrolled in the course.

Program Includes:

  • An online course focused on the essentials of technology, design, and delivery of online experiences. Course includes lessons with videos, downloads, and additional resources. The content is “platform agnostic” so is suitable for any platform (e.g. Zoom, WebEx, MS Teams).
  • Welcome email from Amy with 1-2 minute video explaining what to expect and generating interest
  • Optional: one-hour live session with participants focusing on participants’ questions. The session will be recorded and the replay available in the course.
  • Participants will have access to the online course until one week after the live event.

How it Works:

  1. You sign up for the course.
  2. We send you a special link to share with your conference presenters.
  3. Each presenter gets a unique login to access the course. They work through the modules at their own pace or all at once (less than 2 hours total). They can also skip around and select only those they need.
  4. Schedule the optional live session to be held 1-3 weeks before your event.
  5. Presenters will rock their live programs!
