Project Description
Challenge: Each year Bethel Horizons Summer Camps hires three to four new Program Coordinators to oversee specific areas of the summer camp. Bethel Horizons needs them to be strong leaders individually, but also to work well with each other in order to lead a unifed summer camp. Bethel Horizons has asked Climer Consulting to develop a half-day training that fits in with their longer staff training.
Solution: Each year Amy Climer designs and delivers a half-day leadership training for the Program Coordinators and Program Director. Program Coordinators change each year so the training is always customized for the unique needs of the new group. Topics typically include: working agreements, Five Dysfunctions of a Team, Johari’s Window, giving/receiving feedback, and ethics.
Results: They kept asking for more! Amy continued this training for seven years in a row from 2010 to 2016. Eventually it was expanded to include all summer camp coordinators and counselors.
